This January in the first half of the month I had routine service (new pads) on my front brakes and at that time the back brakes pads were fine. Have had to replace rotors multiple times over the life of the car (9 years 89k miles). Regular maintenance of the slider pins would have prevented this but this was not an item noted in the maintenance and done by the Dealer on checkups except for the most expensive long interval check." "Rear brakes pads wore unevenly because the slider pins dodn't slide to balance the wear so they scored one side of the rotor. I now have 107,000 miles on the Accord and have not had to replace the rear pads yet." "Rear brake pads wore out in 40,000 miles. Tried several times to have this corrected but remains a problem" they brake with a lot of force sending passengers forward. "Dealer may not be truthful saying rear brakes required at 22000 miles but the safety of my wife was at stake since she drives that car" "I have 33 traffic lights on my 33 mile commute to work" "Had to replace rear pads and machine the rear rotors" "The car had 40,000+ miles on it - it just needed new brakes" I've been told that this is due to the fact that it is all city driving-a lot of start and stop wears them down quickly" "In spite of the low mileage, this car needed complete new brakes front and rear. "The front & rear rotors wore out too soon & had to be replaced" "Brakes dragging not stopping as quickly as they should." Front brakes found to need pads 8 months later during routine inspection." "When I took vehicle in for routine maintenance, I was told brakes were worn and should be replaced at next oil change." "Front and rear brake pads and rotors needed replacement due to normal wear" "Brakes replaced at approx 88,000 miles." "I have had front and rear brakes repaired with less than 40,000 miles on vehicle." Also, the third time the rear brakes were replaced while the front's were replaced for the first time at 80,000 miles" "dealer indicated entire calipers were shot. "Both rear calipers stuck and quit working"
"I needed to replace the driver side rear caliper" Also, rear breaks wear much faster than front" "Sticking calipers require yearly lubrication. "Rear caliper got hung up and caused the rotors to fail and brake pads" The caliper and rotor along with rear brake pads, were replaced" The first was cover by Honda, and the second by my extended warranty. "Both calipers went and destroyed the rotors. "During my routine maintenance check, my Honda dealer failed to inform me that my brakes were very worn down" The dealer replaced it to correct the problem" "The left rear caliper was sticking after brake pad replacement. "two brake pads were jammed in calipers one in the rear and one in front" "Had uneven brake pad wear since I purchased the vehicle.
"Had to replace both rear calipers due to leaking" "One of the calipers needed replaced which I did myself" The mechanic's solution was to simply replace the whole caliper as fixing the piston itself would require so much labor that it was the same cost as a caliper replacement." The passenger side front caliper and the parking brake caliper. "Two of my brake calipers develop frozen pistons. "The ABS light came on and I took it to a dealer to be repaired. Our subscribers provide great insights into their satisfaction by answering one simple question: If they had it to do all over again, would they definitely buy or lease the same model? In addition, respondents also rate their cars in six categories: driving experience, comfort, value, styling, audio, and climate systems. To learn about satisfaction, CR has collected survey data from our annual survey on more than half a million vehicles. Based on this data and further analysis, we predict reliability for the latest year. Extra weight is given to the more serious areas such as major engine or transmission problems. The results are presented relative to the average model that year. Consumer Reports subscribers reported on any serious problems they had with their vehicles during the past 12 months that they considered serious because of cost, failure, safety, or downtime, in any of the trouble spots included in the table below. The reliability charts are based on responses on hundreds of thousands of vehicles from our latest Annual Auto Survey.
